April 1862 Pooshee

Sunday 6 As this was our last day here Thomas family, Ellen, & Percival & Maria with their families dined here. The latter are spending the night, Percival intending to go down tomorrow to superintend the negroes from this neighborhood at work on the fortifications at James Island - Rene & Belle came over after church.
Revd Mr Edward Walker preached & administered the holy sacrament this morning. He dined at Northampton & this afternoon rode over & paid us a visit.

M. 7 Percival Porcher went off early this morning to take the cars at Bonneaus. We are now packing up & preparing to leave Pooshee today for Moorefield, where we will spend the night & make an early start (about 8 A.M.) for RidgeVille to take the day train for Aiken tomorrow
